Then others claim the bible has “errors” Just because you do not understand something does not make it an error.

        I went to Bible college 6 years with a masters and never really learned Greek or Hebrew. Yet what books do we use to learn these languages? The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (10 Volume Set) by Gerhard Kittel is an absolute standard in seminaries. Kittel was an early member of the Nazi party a supporter of Hitler.

        Before we start using these lexicons to understand what words mean, maybe we should find out what these authors believe. Do we want to learn Greek from a Nazi or a believer like Martin Luther flawed as he might be.

      • its the best english version there is, but nobody says it is 100% accurate. because the NT was written in koine greek, its very hard to translate these languages together since what may take a whole paragraph to be said in english can be just a sentence in greek. this is literally one of the reasons the Great Schism of 1056 occured

As much as we love the KJV and still use it to backup more modern translations I find it has not got the full grasp of where we find ourselves today and to only use it and nothing else would be suppressing a person’s spiritual growth. It is still worth referring to but alongside other publications.

    King James Version Bible is not the only decent translation. According to the Holy Bible believing scholars like Daniel B. Wallace and James R. White, New American Standard Bible (NASB) and English Standard Version (ESV) might be better translations. Berean Study Bible (BSB), Berean Literal Bible are also great in my experience. https://biblehub.com/ is a great website to compare the Holy Bible translations.

    • M Finch… there is nothing wrong with the ESV just like any other Bible, all Bibles can be used to learn or teach the truth but you need to pray for Gods holy spirit and discernment and cross reference the verses so that you don’t misinterpret them, many people have an agenda which is why there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Bible but please believe me when I say that there are errors in all Bibles because men are imperfect and only the writers of the original scrolls were under divine guidance, sadly there are those who set out to mislead as they themselves were misled, however I believe that God has protected his word so that we today can find his truth because if he hadn’t there would be no hope for us. Satan has taken some bits of the truth and put it into thousands of false religions, he knows that if people find the truth they have a wonderful hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth, that is why it is vital to be like the Boreans and check everything to see if what people tell us is true.
      I liken what Satan did, to a tree being hidden, where is the best place to hide a tree if you don’t want it to be found?
      Satan and his demons know their time is almost up and they want as many people to die as possible.

      Only with Almighty God Jehovah’s help and through research and meditation can we hope to know the truth.

I can see how you’re perception has changed towards the Bible and I’ve listened to why including your awakening, I’m am an open minded person and I’ve therefore given it multiple chances, I’ve prayed and asked for signs too, unfortunately however I’ve never ever had a single one. I know entities exist in the spiritual realm both good and evil, there’s evidence of that if you get into paranormal research and spiritualism which you’d probably believe are all wicked because of Christian teachings, but so far I’m still yet to see any evidence that the Bible is anything more than a compilation of books with a meaning written by different people many years ago. I’d love to be proven wrong and I’m still open minded if you have any suggestions?

    • It’s simple. You and I have sinned against God by disobeying His Commandments. We have all lied , misused His name , hated people (Jesus called that murdering in your heart), fornicated and lusted, etc etc. We are all therfore condemned in His sight. But God sent us His Son ,Jesus Christ ,to pay the fine , the punishment we deserved , so that we can be put right with God. If you come to God and ask Him to forgive your sins, believing that Christ died for you ,you will be forgiven and granted Eternal Life. The change will be real and you will enter into His presence. The Bible tells us many times that God detests mediums and those that try to contact the dead. Repent ,and be saved !

    • I have found out that if you mention certain words, for example p.u.t.i.n., the website automatically removes the comment. It is the algorithms doing it. I don’t think Hugo has anything to do with it. It is rather the web domain.
      YT and others have the same automated scripts.

    • Try to find an older version of the Bible if you can, like the King James Bible.
      I did a quick count at home and found out I have 7 bibles. I did not know it was 7 until now when I counted. I have 2 Gideon bibles. They are okay I think. The oldest one i have is a translation from 1917.

  22. There are faults in the kjv though. For example; you must be born again. Is actually; you must be born from above. In greek the word anothen is used, which means ´from above´. This is significant, because it lays emphasis on origin. In other words, to see the kingdom of God, you have to be born from (Israel). Just as Jesus himself said in matthew 15:24

    • Hugo. Having spent time reading about the history of versions of the Bible and the background of social and religious turmoil during the reformation
      It would seem that both Protestant and Catholic Churches have a history of revising the bible. I agree the King James Version has a certain cadence and beauty to the script but I’m surprised you appear more concerned with which bible people read and not so much the content within. Sorry to sound harsh. I’m inclined to agree with James with his thoughts on the speaker.   29. Thanks for the heads-up Hugo – it was an interesting talk about the need to retain the integrity of the translation of the bible which even the KJV could be compromised by. I’ve heard the simple story of the Nativity change the 3 wise men to “a number of men” which sounds rather sinister. People easily get embarrassed by the bible and lash out. Jesus taught that the 2 greatest commandments were to love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind and to love your neighbour as yourself. He said “All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. Sorry to see the vitriol in some of the comments.

  30. it’s interesting that in some Bibles it says Ishmael was just “playing” with Issack. Yeah right, that would really make Sarah cast him out. I like the KJV. I am listening to the video right now, the Thees Thows Thy etc. I am trying to figure out still what the big deal is. I heard once that the best translation is the one called “shoe leather” in other words: are you living your faith? The Holy Spirit is the Translator. I think I am going to read the KJV this year, it’s my birthday today so i have started in Mathew. Already a blessing. I LIKE all the “old english” anyway, sort of makes me feel cool that I am smart enough to understand it all. Jack Chick of Chick Tracts (which I love) pushes KJV only alot. Maybe they have a way to easier change the KJV, I don’t know, but if so then how great it would be for them to get us fighting and many people thinking this is the only correct version and then changing things to make us believe differently. Decernment from the Holy Spriit showed me this is a deception. I’ve been a Christian for 53 years. Praying for decernment has been one of my most repeated prayers this last few years.

  34. Thank you, once again Hugo. The video is excellent and worth the investment of time, for any serious student of The Word of God. I’ve been studying from the Authorized 1611 King James Version in The Companion Bible for decades. I find the notes E. W. Bullinger and the Appendixes extremely helpful. Also use a Strong’s Concordance, and a person needs the Authorized KJV to look up words in the Concordance. I used the Strong’s to look up the Hebrew word which was translated “grievous” in Psalms 10:5. Going back to the original Hebrew #2342 how on earth can a translator get “prosper” from the Hebrew word chuwl, or chiyl? I challenge folks to look up that word in Strong’s.

I found this most interesting as I did not know that about thee thy ye etc but I checked with my modern bible and found no discrepancies I was pleased to note but good that I have this knowledge for future use.   37. I personally use various translations & do not stick to one, some can have reveal more than others in their text, it really does vary. Iam certainly not against using the KJV but don’t be fooled in thinking that the KJV should be the only one we should use, with some investigation you will find that the Greek text which stands behind the King James Bible is demonstrably inferior in certain places. The man who edited the text was a Roman Catholic priest and humanist named Erasmus.1 He was under pressure to get it to the press as soon as possible since (a) no edition of the Greek New Testament had yet been published, and (b) he had heard that Cardinal Ximenes and his associates were just about to publish an edition of the Greek New Testament and he was in a race to beat them. Consequently, his edition has been called the most poorly edited volume in all of literature! It is filled with hundreds of typographical errors which even Erasmus would acknowledge. Two places deserve special mention. In the last six verses of Revelation, Erasmus had no Greek manuscript (=MS) (he only used half a dozen, very late MSS for the whole New Testament any way). He was therefore forced to ‘back-translate’ the Latin into Greek and by so doing he created seventeen variants which have never been found in any other Greek MS of Revelation! He merely guessed at what the Greek might have been. Secondly, for 1 John 5:7-8, Erasmus followed the majority of MSS in reading “there are three witnesses in heaven, the Spirit and the water and the blood.” However, there was an uproar in some Roman Catholic circles because his text did not read “there are three witnesses in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit.” Erasmus said that he did not put that in the text because he found no Greek MSS which had that reading.
    The King James Bible has undergone three revisions since its inception in 1611, incorporating more than 100,000 changes. Which King James Bible is inspired, therefore?
    Also the KJV includes one very definite error in translation, which even KJV advocates would admit. In Matthew 23:24 the KJV has ‘strain at a gnat and swallow a camel.’ But the Greek has ‘strain out a gnat and swallow a camel.’ In the least, this illustrates not only that no translation is infallible but also that scribal corruptions can and do take place-even in a volume which has been worked over by so many different hands (for the KJV was the product of a very large committee of over 50 scholars).
    when the KJV was first published, it was heavily resisted for being too easy to understand! Some people revere it today because it is difficult to understand. They feel as though they are able to discern something that other, less spiritual folks cannot? Often 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 is quoted with reference to the KJV (to the effect that ‘you would understand it if you were spiritual’). Such a use of that text, however, is a gross distortion of the Scriptures. The words in the New Testament, the grammar, the style, etc.—in short, the language—comprised the common language of the first century.
    The reason unspiritual people do not understand the scriptures is because they have a volitional problem, not an intellectual problem (cf. 1 Cor. 2:14 where ‘receive,’ ‘welcome’ shows clearly that the thing which blocks understanding is the sinful will of man). Remember that the Holy Spirit will help lead/guide into truth.
    There are indeed mistakes in the KJV which persist to this day, even though this translation has gone through several editions. For example, the KJV in Heb 4:8 reads: “For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.” This sounds as though Jesus could not provide the eternal rest that we all long for! However, the Greek word for Jesus is6 the same as the word for Joshua. And in the context of Heb 4, Joshua is obviously meant. There is no textual problem here; it is rather simply a mistake on the part of the translators, perpetuated for the last 400 years in all editions of the KJV.
    There are over 400,000 textual variants among NT MSS. But the differences between the Textus Receptus and texts based on the best Greek witnesses number about 5000—and most of these are untranslatable differences! In other words, over 98% of the time, the Textus Receptus and the standard critical editions agree. Those who vilify the modern translations and the Greek texts behind them have evidently never really investigated the data. Their appeals are based largely on emotion, not evidence. The men who stood behind the King James Bible, the scholars, who admitted that their work was provisional and not final (as can be seen by their preface and by their more than 8000 marginal notes indicating alternate renderings), would they not wholeheartedly welcome the great finds in MSS that have occurred in the past one hundred and fifty years.

    • Daz is a LIAR and I have an earned Master degree in Bible studies and have studied the Bible version issue over one year. Satanists like this hate the King James since it says to kill them and sodomites too. So they claim the king james is wrong do not use it. they know their lives would be forfeit if there was a true revival so they lie.         I am only stating what my research led me to discover, it is not an opinion but just based on the info I found.
        We should rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us/guide us into truth, God reveal things to us as & when He wants to. Having a degree does not & cannot override the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not all have to have a degree to understand scripture & be taught by the ‘Spirit’. By accusing me of being a liar when in fact I have not lied but only shared info that anyone can source, you yourself are in danger of making yourself a liar….

        Before we start using these lexicons to understand what words mean, maybe we should find out what these authors believe. Do we want to learn Greek from a Nazi or a believer like Martin Luther flawed as he might be

    • @Daz thank you for taking the time to put forward your view. It’s heartening to hear a counter argument to the KJV because I think that some people have become obsessed with it as a form of righteousness which puts them in danger of ‘Jesus not knowing them’ (Matthew 7:21-23). In 2 Peter 5-7 Peter places ‘goodness’ before knowledge. It’s important that people focus on following Jesus’s commands rather than nitpicking the semantics. If you are scholarly you can compare versions in different languages and the original to find the most consistent meaning, which is interesting, but not necessary. Unless people latch on to a single passage or an unusual translation of a verse they are unlikely to misunderstand God’s word. As you say, God through the Holy Spirit, gives us understanding (2 Timothy 2:7.)

      • In an alternate Bible you find Jesus Is Yeshua (Jesus) who really is Lucifer per the Complete (Messianic) Jewish Bible by Messianic Jewish ”MESSIANIC” author David Stern and his COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE (NIV does the same)

I particularly liked the part where he describes the new versions and their purpose to make each of us a critic of Gods word, just like Satan… when the serpent said ‘Hath God said…?” I was reinforced in my KJV only decision.     I started with NIV long ago, became agnostic. Started with KJV again, mixed with NLT (New Gideon) and Greek interlinear. Now a detailed/reference filled, large concordance NASB. (It’s goat leather. It feel’s like a real Bible. Unlike faux-pleather “soft-touch” Bibles, that fall apart in 10-20 years.)
    We even have one from 1897, that we don’t (barely) touch because it’s so old, and we haven’t kept it hermetically sealed. I don’t want to damage a book older than everyone in the house.

    • I read KJV and NASB some NLT. The New Testament in my KJV study bible, is underlined with so many notes and colours. I need another Bible without so much clutter, to read sometimes. I’ve kept my goatskin NASB fairly un-touched. Because it’s special grade paper, has enough references, and I have other bibles to underline and study.

      KJV only? NASB is the most literally accurate, according to scholars.
      NLT is spread by the Gideon’s because it is plain English. I feel I gain more from reading at least 2-3 versions of the same verse/book.

    • I studied the theory you have many years ago and found that it is actually the other way around. The sumerians and also the Egyptians, with their Horus story resembling Jesus resurrection, have both copied the Bible. Believe it or not.

  46. If you believe in our Sovereign God who created the world then it’s not hard to believe that His word is inspired and His power is greater than ours to guard His word and holy scriptures.
    With all the world’s wealth power and might the enemy has tried to silence and eradicate the word of God and the Gospel of our lord Jesus Christ. We all are gifted the opportunity to believe, God has written on our hearts and minds. Satan is the father of lies.
    You can get a concordance that will give you every single word written in your bible and the original word and literal translation. You can get apps that with the click of a button bring up the same verse in just about every different translation or version that there is.
    This doubt casting is old and infirm. Hardly any effort to argue for faith.
    Unbelief and doubt act like a barrier or a block to learning and tasting all the truth and meaning, the genius and the awesomeness of the word of almighty God that is there for believers.
    Believing, faith, understanding, confidence, these are all gifts from God. Ask for these gifts. We don’t get to believe off our own efforts.
    We ask in prayer and we pray for each other.
    I pray for all those seeking truth that they will be blessed by the gifts of God that will open up their understanding of the Gospel, that they are blessed with confidence in the word of God and they are satisfied deep in themselves that they have found truth beyond anything they thought possible.       • I like to go to the Original Phoenician Greek / Aramaic New Testament text’s.
        Listen to a Christian scholar who has studied both ancient languages. Then reads the text in English. Usually one verse/passage. Then the P. Greek/Aramaic version of the text. Then expands on the meaning of each word from Aramaic/P.Greek to numerous translations.
        Expanding the meaning of “The Word.” Without altering or changing anything. Only expanding.

  50. Satan has been corrupting God’s word ever since the beginning with Eve in the garden. I believe the Lord kept his promise when he said he promised to preserve His word. I think the KJV, the only that isn’t copyrighted, is the way He did it, knowing English was going to travel around the world. Our God is a genius.
