    • I wouldn’t be boasting about getting drunk – ever! What I witnessed in my youth was enough to make me decide as a teenager that I was going to be teetotal, and then some. Nothing so unattractive through to disgusting as seeing someone out of control through drink. And to see a woman in that state – ugh! Utterly dreadful.

  2. The main thing is to keep your clarity of mind at any given time! I wouldn’t stigmatize all alcohol containing drinks just because many people misuse them.
“For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.”
    Mathew 11:18-19
Perhaps, strict abstinence is the best option for those who do not know when to stop, but there’s more to wine then inebriation.
    Be blessed!

    • The fact that the people said Jesus came eating and drinking shows their perception of what He did. Not what He actually did. And the fact that there is not any positive scriptures for drinking alcohol is a pretty good indicator that the man of God would do best to refrain from it completely.

Besides it isn’t a good witness for the world for them to see you drinking who already perceive believers in such a negative light. Stay away from it I say just as the proverb, “Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.” Pr.23:31,32-

“At the last” and “move to itself aright” is a reference to grape juice that has fermented. Alcohol. Don’t even look at it let alone drink it.

      • I gave an example, just to show that in fact Jesus drank wine, people’s perception of it is à completely different story. I do not dispute the ill effects of drunkenness, neither do I encourage anybody getting inebriated to any degree. Any sensible person would know that Jesus wasn’t getting sloshed or stoned.
        I’ll add one more quote:
“Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
        Mark 14:25

        Be blessed

      • The example you gave showed that the people’s perception was that Jesus drank alcohol. Not that He in fact drank it. Their perception was fed by the fact that He sat with those who did drink.

Fruit of the vine is grape juice. Not alcohol. And by the way, the admonition not to look at wine when it moves aright(alcohol) that I showed you in Proverbs was inspired by Jesus. I’m sure He took His own council. As He also inspired to be written “Does not he who teaches also teach himself?”

    • If someone needs alcohol to relax, be themselves, whatever, I pity them. It’s dreadful to see people out of control and to hear them next day asking, desperately, if they’d said or done anything awful at that party, or wherever they’d been consuming alcohol.

  3. Spot on Hugo. My husband was an alcoholic and there was undoubtedly a demon entity pushing his soul out of his body. It killed him in the end.

It’s not about “not knowing when to stop” – having watched drunks in my youth, I knew right off that I didn’t want to EVER be like them. Anyway, I hate the smell of the stuff and haven’t felt that I missed out on anything through being one of those odd balls who can enjoy life and make some fun without the “help” of alcohol.

You appear to be certain that Jesus did not drink wine, but sweet grape juice… and I have no desire to argue.
These sort of debates are absolutely futile.

  7. Being Irish we alway had a few cold beers after working in the fields and hot sun. Boy is it good! Never had any issues. But, I do know people that have had problems and I have seen the demons first hand. Many do not have the discipline to handle the drink and those that do, would probably be more productive without it.

  8. We are looking at a period in history, where fermentation of alcohol was a good way to sterilise drinking water. Don’t forget that even children in medieval England drank weak beer, as a means of hydration. Boiling was known in the Asian /China regions. This is why genetically, many of sole Chinese genes don’t process alcohol well. They are not geared to it genetically. Whilst God made us all …genetically we have diversified (the same way dogs/cats as species have diversified into different breeds.)
However, if something affects the workings of our brains so as to cause malfunction; alcohol or any other ‘stimulant’ be it , a food, drug, frequency, smell…any strong stimulant, or even the presence of heavy metal toxins.. as are in many vaccines
(mercury (Therimisol) Aluminium ) etc should be avoided at all costs. Incapacitation of the brain for any reason, is not a good thing, as it will allow Satan’s little helpers, to exploit that and wreak misery. We mustn’t forget, Satan will use anything he can to bring about his goal; our destruction.
    Just my opinion.
