    • Hi Angela…praying for you. We all have all kinds of different “thorns”, and especially when wanting to read the Bible. Never fails, when I start reading, I start sneezing, or other things happen, and I just say, “Oh, no you don’t! I’m going to read my Bible no matter what is thrown at me.” But I know what that’s like, so when I get tired, and have trouble taking in reading, I go here and listen. https://kjvpce.com/audio-bible
Just wish it didn’t have to be online. I have to lay down a lot, and hard to hold the Bible up, so I just lay and pray. Bet a lot of us do that. It’s on the backs of our knees. ha ha. I have to use a really thick soft pillow for my knees to get on them for any time. Praying for blessings, and healing for you, or just ability to withstand the thorns. I think I’d worry if we were not bothered, because You-know-who (I won’t use his name, because too many people are these days) only messes with those who love the Lord, and they can’t stand to hear the Word of God read out loud, so I do that OFTEN. And singing…runs ’em off. I can almost hear: OH, NO, QUIT SINGING THOSE PRAISES, so we can make THEIR head hurt. LOL. Thank you Lord.

  2. Thank you Hugo. All your work is so greatly appreciated! You are shining the TRUE light of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ…a lamp to our feet. Proverbs 4:27. “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil”. The Bible is indeed powerful. God Bless you🙏

  3. Thank you. One of my absolute favorite scriptures is: Jeremiah 33:3. “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. I should share the prior verse too. (verse 2) Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name. Rev. 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. When you feel His glorious presence, the mtn of heavies you may have had before seeking Him in private prayer turns into a molehill, or vanishes altogether. I used to get on my knees crying my eyes out, and ended up singing praises, going out with joy after. He inhabits our praises also…WHAT A SAVIOR!!! The sacrifice of praise uplifts or does away with the heavies, or molygrubs, as my old Pastor used to call it, every time. I now have church out in the desert, playing hymns and psalms on my harmonica, marching to Onward Christian Soldiers, marching as to war….and many others. If ever you need an uplift…we know where to go. Or just to thank and praise our Lord.

  5. Yes… agree.
It’s kinda sad, how impossible it is explaining things to people.
Only those who already understand (if not fully at least to some extent), would know that you are on the right path… your words will simply struck accord with their thoughts… those who have been touched and stirred by the Holly Spirit.
You’re doing a great job Hugo, I doubt you’ll persuade the blind and deaf to try see and hear, but you give comfort to those who strife and that’s a lot!

    Regards

    • Agree Alef…yes, it is very difficult to make people understand when all they see is this world! But we can scatter seeds, and pray that someone comes along behind us to sew and water them, before Jesus and the Holy Spirit take over 🙏

  6. Hi Pamela,

The seeds have already being planted… and the weeds.
    Mathew 13:24-30
The hour of the harvest is unknown.
We must be vigilant, always! Grow and bare fruit, that’s what a good seed does.
“You shall know them by their fruits”.
God is in charge, has always been, Jesus is the greatest proof and
the Holy Spirit is the reminder!

    Alef

  7. I’ve been enjoying your talks, thanks so much and so glad you’re calling out the ridiculousness of this app which will sadly be lapped up by many people. I think we need tobe careful about giving the impression that being a Christian is just a purely private thing. Paul speaks a lot to the gathering of the church and in Hebrews we are commanded to not neglect meeting together. The rules he laid down for church discipline show that it is assumed that we would be gathering,so although the denominational issue can be problematic I think the idea of not having to go to church as a Christian is problematic too, although goes without saying you need to be discerning about which church. In my personal experience, I’m part of a denominatiom that takes the bible seriously and their denominational differences are around leadership structure but it’s not something ever spoken about at church and we have not been asked to sign up to say we agree with all that, I wouldnt even know what all the distinctives are.. We’d go to any church that takes the word of God seriously. I’ve never once heard our church insinuate that this denomination is the chosen one and others are all wrong and not chosen. The cults tend to be the ones that do that but youll find groups such as the JWs and LDS have very different doctrine around who Jesus is which is a Primary issue and they aren’t considered to be just another denomination. I don’t think we can truly grow and mature as a Christian in isolation from the body of believers. Also with prayer, I don’t think the point Jesus was trying to make was that we should never pray in groups, because in Matthew 18:20 he talks about where two or more are gathered. I think he was warning against the posturing in public of self righteous prayer done to impress people. I don’t think we are ever going to find a perfect church because we are a bunch of sinners all gathered together but any church which takes the word of God seriously (and doesn’t suggest that their doctrinal differences around leadership are a salvation issue) is better than no church congregation at all. I hope my comments aren’t taken as criticism, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

  8. Spot on again Hugo. Personally I think many people go to organised gatherings (church), for the companionship, and sense of
‘belonging’. Many go for the satisfaction they recieve in group worship, and then many people are lonely, and also look for friendship. I don’t go, prefering to do as Jesus said.

  9. Saying that your relationship is directly with God and Jesus, and that you don’t need to be a member of a church is only half correct. Matthew 18:20 tells us that we shouldn’t be going it alone. We are all members of the church; the remnant church is not SDA, JW, or any other organisation, the remnant church is comprised of saints, who are all those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12). Many people join an organised church, and discuss the Bible. If you’re prepared to let that organised church deceive you, you’re not reading the Bible. Yes, you should pray in secret to the Lord, however the ‘hypocrites’ referred to in the synagogues relates to those who go to their church to keep up appearances and pretend they love God by praying in public, and as soon as they leave they do nothing until the following Sabbath.

    • Just something to know….the ‘ crusades’ were the response to the Muslim hoardes over running, slaughtering, and invading, the already many Christian countries of the Middle East and many parts of Europe. Those countries were not ALWAYS Muslim as they are now.
