Thank you Hugo.
Your videos are ALWAYS excellent and enable me to get my thoughts and actions back to where they should be if they have deviated.
There is a line in this video that is so true.
Money can buy you a house , it won’t make it a home.
I have been into so many posh houses and they are cold , they are void of a sense of being a cosy home. I have never been able to put my finger on what it is. Usually they have named brand furniture and top of the range bits and bobs , not a thing out of place and an owner that cares about putting on Facebook their car , their booked holidays , their £600 jacket.
Terrible.
I wear my £7 Primark Linen trousers in summer and I am happy.
I make my HOME welcoming to everyone and my daughters friends. I keep it tidy and I like to have nice things but I don’t tell the world how much something costs if it was expensive. I don’t drive myself mad with having to have a perfect colour match of a rug to a sofa to the walls etc , I build a home.
I have given my daughter these values , she is growing up knowing the true value of Jesus and worshipping Him and not material things.
Going back to ‘cold’ houses , they will never be ‘homes’ while the people who live in them value named brands over the true values in life.
Anyway. Another brilliant video , you are a good man Hugo , your videos are welcome any time in my life as your values are the values we all should strive for , as little as we know you , you are a warm person
Money is an interesting thing. I have worked all my life and I am finally making enough that I have a secure bank account and a nice home. I just hope that if ever something happens and the bottom falls out and I no longer have my job, my bank account or my home, I will be one of those rare people who trust God and I am able to to live without bitterness. I do fear the love of money is an issue for me, the fact that it gives me security, but I pray daily that it is not a false idol of mine. Thank you so much for the video, you put things in very good perspective.
Money is an interesting thing. I have worked all my life and I currently have a beautiful home and a good retirement saved up. My fear is that with the economy, as it is, things could go very badly, and I would lose it all. I pray that money is not a false idol for me, but just a means to an end. Hopefully, if I were to lose everything I would be one of the rare people who survive without bitterness and come out, trusting and loving God even more. I really hope I’m never tested, but I will trust God to know what’s best. This video was very timely as I was just reading today over the 10 Commandments and thinking do I have any false idols in my life. Thank you for all your videos. I find them very insightful, interesting and helpful.

“Ye cannot serve God and mammon” How many of us as believers try and do both? If Jesus said “Ye cannot” then it CAN NOT be done.
I absolutely love your song at the end of this video Hugo, great work!
