I’ve never liked the collective madness and the propaganda of cults, like all of the so called “holy” days for all that matter… I’d say to anyone: “What would Jesus say of your customs, rituals and traditions if he was here now?” I’d encourage everyone to ask himself at any given moment, in the face of any dilemma, enterprise or uncertainty: “What would have Jesus done in my stead?”

Yes, for many of us, Christmas is more about a time to party and exchange gifts. Others sadly, who have become homeless as relationships break down, find themselves out on the streets in winter living rough while others are enjoying themselves. The emphasis has become more about material things. However there is aways the Christmas carol which evokes the wonder of the Son of God coming to Earth, such as O Little Town of Bethlehem, It came upon a Midnight Clear, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Gaudete to name a few. In our village we have a 50-strong choir of locals and we will be singing carols at our ancient church – at Christmas we are should have a fair audience. Hopefully afterwards there will be a drop of wine!

great video. my sister from london just sent me a box with those christmas crackers and paper crowns for when my folk come out for christmas. i suppose my husband will at some time put up christmas lights and buy a wreathe, take me out in the woods with the big black truck to poach a tree. good times. i am saved and love Jesus and don’t really mind that it got all mixed up with the pagan stuff thanks to the catholix. we are rome after all. what can you do? God has Rome in charge until Jesus comes back as per the statue in Daniel. When in rome. I mean, they might even bring back the lions. i will die for Christ. It’d be an honor. in the meantime i will probably do the pg version of christmas and make sure to use it all as if it really is Jesus’s birthday party. If He doesn’t like it, I am really sorry. those whales swimming around in the ocean to the sign of Jonah song are really beautiful. We saw so many black angus on our way to Bozeman and back. Montana is really a big huge breath of fresh air. Allelujah. but still I say Come Lord Jesus any day now. I would love to skip all the christmas stuff, really I would. I just want to go like a shepard to the manger and see Him and then go tell it on the mountain…and then ski down, drink some eggnog and open my stocking.
You’re right about all of the above and the things you say about scripture. I admire your faith as far as it goes and for those reasons I still watch your videos, at least some of them. Today is the feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and I’m writing today in defense of Jesus’ and our holy Mother. How could you think that Jesus Christ could ever be born of an ordinary woman? She was chosen before the earth was created. Catholics don’t worship her we pray to her for intercession with her Divine Son and with His Father. Read Apoc.12:12-16 which refers to Her. You must do a lot or research. Read about
her miracles. Many years of research have been done on her most famous ones. Start with Our Lady
of Guadalupe. You will be astounded with the scientific fact of the “tilma”. Miracles are for people like you.
As for Christmas, does it really matter what the exact date of Jesus’ birth was? The celebration helps believers focus on what’s important about the date that’s been designated. The entire year is a cycle of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. I have sympathy for people who have nothing in their lack of Faith, especially in these awful times on earth with the “legions” obviously in ascendancy.
And the prize for the most miserable and miserly Christmas party goes to……Hugo! Congratulations man. You can suck on a piece of coal while the rest of us celebrate the birthday of all birthdays. Feasting is a wonderful thing to celebrate an occasion. Cheer up Grinch Knickers, and try and have a nice time. Jesus likes it when we’re loving life.
God wants us to enjoy life. God wants us to enjoy people, the fruit of our labor, peace, favor, food and drink, safety, and even wealth and honor. He NEVER states that these things are out of our reach, or that we shouldn’t have them.
But do you really know what you are engaging with?, and what you are tacitly accepting by engaging?

I’m certainly agreeing with you in these points that all the ‘Holy Days’ that we have in this country are merely a continuation of the Druidic/pagan festivals that were watered down and given a substitute meaning by the early church in this country. The pagan festivals should really have been stopped all together when Christianity reached our shores but perhaps this would have created too much upset among the local non-believers at the time and therefore a compromise was reached and their festivities were just given another meaning?
As for greed and revelling, it’s making me think of the English civil war, the puritist movement (again, something worth studying because the drive for this was apparently to allow the common people the right to be guided by God on a personal level and not just to be preached to by a priest: sounds good in my opinion) and the subsequent fruit of having a party loving King (Charles II) as head of state in the years following the puritans. Look at 1666 : The deadly plague, great fire of London and a second war with the Dutch! Note the number in the year too! All a coincidence? Or was this the fruit of a rebellion of the state against a huge movement of Godly people to make England a better, more heavenly place?

It is always the same old story, merely clothed with different fashions and emphasis throughout the ages. Christianity is indeed a sophisticated religion when looked at esoterically, but it wasn’t the first and it won’t be the last.
