The reason God allows suffering is because we are living in a FALLEN world, as Hugo stated. Read the Bible, folks. It all starts in the book of Genesis. Adam, as our mankind representative CHOSE to disobey God despite being warned of the consequences to the world. Satan deceived our representatives: Adam and Eve. As a result, suffering and death came into this world for the penalty of sin. You can say that Satan won that round. That’s the way it is, folks. God could have left the world that way. (When the angels fell, God did not provide redemption for them like He did for mankind). God could’ve let us live our short, sinful miserable lives, die and go to Hell. (Yes literal Hell that –by the way- was made for the devil and his angels when they rebelled but that’s for another discussion). God is Holy and the entrance to Heaven is PERFECTION- NO sin.
HOWEVER, God (in His mercy because He did not HAVE to), as we are only entitled to justice. I hate to say this truth but justice is death/damnation for us. Thankfully God gave us a way out by sending His Son to die for us for all who put their faith in the finished work of Christ. Jesus’s death on the Cross was absolutely necessary to provide atonement for OUR sins. There IS no other way to God. Before Jesus went to the Cross, He prayed 3x asking the father if there was any other way. The answer was NO. Satan hates us and deceives us into thinking there are many ways to God, but no. Only Jesus Christ came back from the dead. Even non Christian writers of that time know Jesus rose from the dead. Did any other religious figure come back? His discriples were scared and fled when Jesus was taken by the Roman authorities. However, only after seeing the risen Lord, were they willing to suffer horrific martyr deaths proclaiming the Gospel (good news) of Jesus. The good news is that we can be forgiven our sins and be brought back to God and go to heaven after death.
There is a REAL spiritual battle going on here whether you see it or not. It’s clearly stated in the Bible . On the Cross, Jesus was “made sin”- OUR sin since He had none- so our penalty is paid and we can be redeemed back to God. Satan doesn’t want us saved. You guys get mad at God, however, when you say He allows evil. Yes, much evil is allowed in this world for purposes way beyond on comprehension. Jesus (God) being killed at the hands of man (backed by the forces of evil) was the greatest evil done in this world. BUT, through the death of Christ, God was saving us. See? This is an evil no one could see in which GOOD (our redemption) came out of. Don’t judge God when you are fallible, sinful mankind. God is good, all knowing and all righteousness and we need to shut up.
Jesus wasn’t just a “good man” teaching us to be nice to one another like other religious leaders. No, Jesus Christ IS the Son of God whose mission was to die for us. It says that in the Bible. The physical death- as bad as it was to Jesus- was nothing to Jesus compared to being forsaken by God on the Cross. During that time God was pouring out His wrath against sin on His only Begotten Son so our “penalty” could be paid. No, life certainly won’t be “all roses” after we are saved as Christians are told they will suffer in this world until Jesus returns. We live a life of faith (reading our Bibles, obeying God) out of thankfulness for what He has done for us in Christ.
When we suffer and see all the sad/bad things in this world, we realize something is wrong with the world. This pain drives us to despair and is God’s way of making us see the reality of this fallen world. We then “wake up” to what is REALLY going on and seek the Creator and the fogiveness/salvation that is ONLY found through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. It is our SIN that is the problem. The world was cursed after the Fall. Remember, we are in spiritual warfare and our eternal souls are at stake.
PLEASE, seek God while He is near as the Bible says. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before it’s too late. He is the LORD.

It’s also sad that the parents of the majority of children are separated, although this can be patched up, as my husband and I have found out and never been happier! I love how you think. You discern the bone from the marrow. God extended his grace on His terms. We can’t tell him how to do things. We are nothing, and Jesus should always get the glory. Jesus promised us if we put our trust in Him, He will save us from the wrath to come, and give us eternal life. “Oh death where is thy sting?” If someone doesn’t want to believe in him, in His terms, they aren’t going to His Kingdom. Satan’s abode is hell, when he is judged. So it only makes sense that all who love evil will go their too. I think the Lord showed us how much He loved us by doing everything possible to make us righteous, through His blood. All we have to do is believe him? That is good deal to me. He did everything, and we could do nothing to save ourselves. So suffering for a short time for the reward of being with Jesus forever is worth it. If they only knew how beautiful it is to know the true God, it would seem everyone would take his offer.

My understanding of scripture leads me to realise that God also gives us free will and will not stand against our decisions, be it to follow His way or reject Him and follow our own desires. There is a cost however. He will not stand between our foolish decisions and the harm that this may do to others.
Following the Lord does not protect us but God will turn ‘that which was meant for evil, to His Glory’. We may not understand how, when or why, but He WILL be Glorified in the end!

Also, many Bible believing Christians believe that when we hurt and are going through a lot of pain, trusting and believing is enough or is an easy thing to do. No, not at all!. I am sure when someone hurts he or she is asking a lot of questions; I can tell you this from experience. Look at Job, how many questions did he ask God? What did his wife say? So, it is too easy to tell somene “trust and believe”, but if we were in his or her shoes I am sure we would think twice; there would be too many stars circling around our head.
Funny how the same people who deny God’s existence also confess they believe that because they blame him for peoples suffering? How can you deny God’s existence but at the same time still blame him for stuff? These hippocrates, they question God but don’t question themselves. To not believe in God is to deny your own existence, and on the day of judgement God will fulfill your own wishes. All men get what they deserve.
Great video, Hugo. You covered many great points. Suffering is the result of the fall as is all disease and death. God created Eden and he saw that it was very good. (Genesis 1:31). “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good”.
Only one command Adam and Eve had to obey with a warning and they failed.
They listened to the devil in the guise of a serpent and so brought disease, death, hatred, violence, greed, corruption, all things that are opposite to “very good”.
You are spot-on, God is not willing to strike someone without giving them a chance to repent. Look at the following scripture: “the Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some men count slackness; but his long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up… nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” (2 Peter 9–13).
God did do something about the suffering: He sent His only begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Son of God came to earth, suffered and died a horrific death of crucifixion on the cross to rescue humanity from death and the consequences of sin.
All we have to do is to believe in the Son of God and we are given a promise of eternal life in heaven which is free from everything that is troublesome here including death.
And people say why does God not do anything about the suffering in this world? Just because He doesn’t do it the way they want it done the instant they want it done. Well if they continue to reject him, they will suffer for all eternity.
Even now, God is extending His mercy to all who will come to Him with a humble heart, and accept His amazing offer of forgiveness of all their sins, a new nature, and eternal life in heaven. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16).
But many will not come to Him to receive His free gift through His Son because of their own prideful arrogance. They do not realise against Whom they are raising their arrogance, Almighty God, that they will lose just as Satan lost in his rebellion against God.
So the Christians who were eaten by the Lions and have died in their their millions in various wars over the intervening millennia simply weren’t praying hard enough….

This is the sort of thing I have to deal with all the time from people who think they know the Bible but don’t. ‘Why does God allow suffering’ is a constant refrain. Allowing us free will has huge implications that I guess most people haven’t truly considered. But it isn’t like people who ask this question really want an answer. It’s just a way to declare their distrust in God or their lack of faith in God.
The truth of the matter is, if everyone kept God’s commandments, the moral law of God, there would be a lot less suffering. For the commandments and the whole law can be summed up in this: that we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength and we love our neighbour which is everyone as ourselves. If we loved others as God commands us to, then we would do them no wrong. The world has got more and more evil as time has gone on because increasingly we have gone away from the Lord’s commandments. God could have left us to our own devices, by not sending His Son, but he wanted to rescue us because he loved us and so he sent His Son to end humanity’s suffering. The choice is up to each human being whether they will accept God’s free gift of eternal life or reject it.

There’s a simple explanation to the answer “why does God allow…”. And it’s in the very first book of the Bible – Genesis (there are two version of creation in Genesis) and that is that while God created everything and “behold it was very good”, he also gave us, man, “free will”.

I wish people would realise that our challenges don’t come from god. God gave us the will to choose. Thank you, Hugo. That was really good and I’m praying for you as you grow in your faith and knowledge of God. Sorry for this long read, but I feel it is crucial to understand suffering in this world.
The reason God allows suffering is because we are living in a FALLEN world, as Hugo stated. Read the Bible, folks. It all starts in the book of Genesis. Adam, as our mankind representative CHOSE to disobey God despite being warned of the consequences to the world. Satan deceived our representatives: Adam and Eve. As a result, suffering and death came into this world for the penalty of sin. You can say that Satan won that round. That’s the way it is, folks. God could have left the world that way. (When the angels fell, God did not provide redemption for them like He did for mankind). God could’ve let us live our short, sinful miserable lives, die and go to Hell. (Yes literal Hell that –by the way- was made for the devil and his angels when they rebelled but that’s for another discussion). God is Holy and the entrance to Heaven is PERFECTION- NO sin.
HOWEVER, God (in His mercy because He did not HAVE to), as we are only entitled to justice. I hate to say this truth but justice is death/damnation for us. Thankfully God gave us a way out by sending His Son to die for us for all who put their faith in the finished work of Christ. Jesus’s death on the Cross was absolutely necessary to provide atonement for OUR sins. There IS no other way to God. Before Jesus went to the Cross, He prayed 3x asking the father if there was any other way. The answer was NO. Satan hates us and deceives us into thinking there are many ways to God, but no. Only Jesus Christ came back from the dead. Even non Christian writers of that time know Jesus rose from the dead. Did any other religious figure come back? His discriples were scared and fled when Jesus was taken by the Roman authorities. However, only after seeing the risen Lord, were they willing to suffer horrific martyr deaths proclaiming the Gospel (good news) of Jesus. The good news is that we can be forgiven our sins and be brought back to God and go to heaven after death.
There is a REAL spiritual battle going on here whether you see it or not. It’s clearly stated in the Bible . On the Cross, Jesus was “made sin”- OUR sin since He had none- so our penalty is paid and we can be redeemed back to God. Satan doesn’t want us saved. You guys get mad at God, however, when you say He allows evil. Yes, much evil is allowed in this world for purposes way beyond on comprehension. Jesus (God) being killed at the hands of man (backed by the forces of evil) was the greatest evil done in this world. BUT, through the death of Christ, God was saving us. See? This is an evil no one could see in which GOOD (our redemption) came out of. Don’t judge God when you are fallible, sinful mankind. God is good, all knowing and all righteousness and we need to shut up.
Jesus wasn’t just a “good man” teaching us to be nice to one another like other religious leaders. No, Jesus Christ IS the Son of God whose mission was to die for us. It says that in the Bible. The physical death- as bad as it was to Jesus- was nothing to Jesus compared to being forsaken by God on the Cross. During that time God was pouring out His wrath against sin on His only Begotten Son so our “penalty” could be paid. No, life certainly won’t be “all roses” after we are saved as Christians are told they will suffer in this world until Jesus returns. We live a life of faith (reading our Bibles, obeying God) out of thankfulness for what He has done for us in Christ.
When we suffer and see all the sad/bad things in this world, we realize something is wrong with the world. This pain drives us to despair and is God’s way of making us see the reality of this fallen world. We then “wake up” to what is REALLY going on and seek the Creator and the fogiveness/salvation that is ONLY found through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. It is our SIN that is the problem. The world was cursed after the Fall. Remember, we are in spiritual warfare and our eternal souls are at stake.

It’s also sad that the parents of the majority of children are separated, although this can be patched up, as my husband and I have found out and never been happier! Now we are on the verge of nuclear war thanks to a battle for dominance by one nation in a proxy war over others using propaganda and lies, in my opinion, gambling recklessly with the survival of the planet . I love how you think. You discern the bone from the marrow. God extended his grace on His terms. We can’t tell him how to do things. We are nothing, and Jesus should always get the glory. Jesus promised us if we put our trust in Him, He will save us from the wrath to come, and give us eternal life. “Oh death where is thy sting?” If someone doesn’t want to believe in him, in His terms, they aren’t going to His Kingdom. Satan’s abode is hell, when he is judged. So it only makes sense that all who love evil will go their too. I think the Lord showed us how much He loved us by doing everything possible to make us righteous, through His blood. All we have to do is believe him? That is good deal to me. He did everything, and we could do nothing to save ourselves. So suffering for a short time for the reward of being with Jesus forever is worth it. If they only knew how beautiful it is to know the true God, it would seem everyone would take his offer.

May I add to your explanation of suffering please?
My understanding of scripture leads me to realise that God also gives us free will and will not stand against our decisions, be it to follow His way or reject Him and follow our own desires. There is a cost however. He will not stand between our foolish decisions and the harm that this may do to others.
Following the Lord does not protect us but God will turn ‘that which was meant for evil, to His Glory’. We may not understand how, when or why, but He WILL be Glorified in the end!

You are spot-on, God is not willing to strike someone without giving them a chance to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up… nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” (2 Peter 9–13).
God did do something about the suffering: He sent His only begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Son of God came to earth, suffered and died a horrific death of crucifixion on the cross to rescue humanity from death and the consequences of sin.
All we have to do is to believe in the Son of God and we are given a promise of eternal life in heaven which is free from everything that is troublesome here including death.
And people say why does God not do anything about the suffering in this world? Just because He doesn’t do it the way they want it done the instant they want it done. Well if they continue to reject him, they will suffer for all eternity.
Even now, God is extending His mercy to all who will come to Him with a humble heart, and accept His amazing offer of forgiveness of all their sins, a new nature, and eternal life in heaven. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. (John 3:16).
But many will not come to Him to receive His free gift through His Son because of their own prideful arrogance. They do not realise against Whom they are raising their arrogance, Almighty God, that they will lose just as Satan lost in his rebellion against God.

No one forces anyone to believe in God or Jesus Christ. That is not how love works. But why do the non-believersy feel the need to denigrate those who do? What purpose does that serve? Sharing your ignorance, lack of faith, frustrations and confusion while simultaneously accusing people of faith of being fools is an absurd use of one’s time. People love to ask why babies die if there is a God? That seems to be the focal point of much of their anger, confusion or pain. They seem to want those of faith to defend a God they refuse to even accept as real. Again, what a total waste of their time. You either see the truth or you do not. The irony is that Christianity is about the only religion – this includes the religion of climate change – you CAN question.

What has happened to Hugo?
[In Christ] Ephesians 1:13-14 has happened to Hugo.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
John 14:17 Jesus said,”…the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
John 14:25 Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
Hugo cannot stop talking about the Lord; Jeremiah had the same problem.
In Jeremiah 20:9, Jeremiah said,
“Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him,
Nor speak anymore in His name.”

The most amazing thing is that people who ridicule God, blame Him – the entity in Whom they don’t believe – for the mistakes and accidents of man.
But you’re right Hugo, they just don’t know. They don’t know nor understand the Bible, its incredible accuracy and prophecies that have already been proven. Neither do they know science that confirms the truth of the Bible & Creation.
I don’t think they will deter you from sharing the truth. Thank you.

This is the sort of thing I have to deal with all the time from people who think they know the Bible but don’t. ‘Why does God allow suffering’ is a constant refrain. Allowing us free will has huge implications that I guess most people haven’t truly considered. But it isn’t like people who ask this question really want an answer. It’s just a way to declare their distrust in God or their lack of faith in God.

The truth of the matter is, if everyone kept God’s commandments, the moral law of God, there would be a lot less suffering. For the commandments and the whole law can be summed up in this: that we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength and we love our neighbour which is everyone as ourselves. If we loved others as God commands us to, then we would do them no wrong. The world has got more and more evil as time has gone on because increasingly we have gone away from the Lord’s commandments. God could have left us to our own devices, by not sending His Son, but he wanted to rescue us because he loved us and so he sent His Son to end humanity’s suffering. The choice is up to each human being whether they will accept God’s free gift of eternal life or reject it.

The answer is found at Genesis 3:15, this is the issue of God putting hatred in between the seed of God’s woman and the serpents seed. God said only two sides a no neutral territory, those that do not support the woman’s seed are enemies of God and supporters of the serpents seed.

I think your right Hugo people haven’t understood the scriptures, God isn’t the ruler of this world, the scriptures say the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one. Until you understand the issue of universal sovereignty you will remain in the dark, not you Hugo I can see you have spirituality.

It all boils down to free-will.. Many things that take place, are the result of generational curses.. Ancestry,, etc..
Someone in your family line, brought something in, such as playing with Ouija board.., or praying to idols etc…
Almighty God is, Just, True & Fair…
Each person, from adam and eve, were given free will…
So all the leaders or elites of the world, are doing what they want because of free will, a person can turn to Jesus Christ of the bible, or something else, but in the end God will make the final decision, ((we are only one heart beat, from iternity)) i would recommend that only Jesus Christ truly saves, ((John 3 16-17 🙏🏻)) , but because of Freewill its upto everyone to one day make a decision… Just remember the devil owns the fence,

There’s a simple explanation to the answer “why does God allow…”. And it’s in the very first book of the Bible – Genesis (there are two version of creation in Genesis) and that is that while God created everything and “behold it was very good”, he also gave us, man, “free will”.
And as you say Hugo there’s a way back no matter what we’ve done to “miss the mark” (sin) if we return to the path / father. Tis is the story of the Prodigal son

I answered this question in my understanding not long ago.
I have a question this week regarding a post by Angus Buchan, stating that emigration from SA doesn’t make you more safe and if we ask for Yahweh’s protection nothing can hurt or touch us.
I want to believe the same, and I do to a great extent, I totally trust our father, but is it accurate.
We definitely witness a totally different picture,
30 000 very faithful Boer women and children.
100 million Christian Russians murdered.
Millions of unborn babies in the womb, up to 9 months according to New York laws.
Eighty thousand plus whites in SA since 94.
The list goes on and on and on.
And then you have incidents like Blood River??
So its safe to say that Angus’s statement is untrue and its a very distressing reality, so we do want to know why.
I prayed about it before bed, I woke up at midnight and lay thinking for a couple of hours. I realized that I knew the answer all along.
The first scripture is Jer 17 vs 5. Trust in man and not the Father.
The second place we go wrong is Matt 5 vs 18 where Yahshua says that the law stands until all be fulfilled.
Paul contradicted Him, Rom 6 vs 14 (this discussion is for another day)
You see, the Bible is a handbook for Israelites to stay healthy and prosper on earth.
Deuteronomy 11 vs 26, actually read on through the whole chapter.
The blessings of obedience to Yahweh’s commandments and the consequences of disobedience. Read it, its exactly what has happened to the Israelites through history and is where we find ourselves today.
So the destruction of innocents and faithful is a result of a nations rejection of Yahweh’s laws. By not following His handbook and keeping our eyes on Him, we are responsible for the destruction of our people. Its a societal breakdown.
Sins of the fathers visited on the children, the sins or iniquities of one generation passing to another.
The truth is a rigid line, it cannot bend in any direction. When your forefather decided to reject truth, he started a slight parting from the truth line. Three or four generations later that line has parted so far from that rigid line that the return becomes almost impossible. The truth becomes abhorrent to you and 99 percent of those around you.
Yahweh gives us free choice and free will. If we have no knowledge, we end up trusting man, and destruction follows.
At Blood River a covenant was made, Yahweh steps up for us.
The Voortrekkers also believed that the white western nations are the true Israelites, which is totally correct (discussion for the near future)
So, the answer is simple, our people are victims of the state of our nations, its not Yahweh’s intention for us, its our own doing.
