Thank you for pointing me to this chapter of Jeremiah. It highlights exactly what was happening in those days and is still on-going now, the foolishness at not realizing when they are being warned by God against this evil kind of ‘worship’.

Are not all names titles in a way — some more meaningful than others. My name, for example, means Hope Helmet (as in the full armor of God). Viewing Christianity as the one true religion, and everything else as somehow being evil and false is surely just feeding into the divisiveness??People have fought and murdered one another for centuries, all in the name of religion. Christians against Hindus, Jews against Christians…the bible is not an oracle of truth, it is in part, historical document, in part mythology, written by flawed human beings (not God!) just like every other spiritual text…I can see that there is currently a general anti Christian ‘agenda’, (and I am sure there is plenty that I don’t know about this) however, having been brought up in a Christian household, I see nothing of value in clinging to Christianity as the one ‘Truth’ …only control, dogma and fear… (it is easy to romanticize something like Christianity when you haven’t had direct experience of it). Your point speaks to the nature of the One true God, the I Am, the maker of heaven and earth. God Almighty had angel entities with Him that were in total allegiance with Him. He desired a creation that would freely choose Him as their Lord. He gave His ‘very good creation’ free will. He validates His divine supremacy through Jesus Messiah, the Holy Spirit and all of creation so that no one is excused from knowing that He is God. Still, every person has a choice to believe or not.

I’ve observed over my lifetime how Christianity has been squeezed out of schools and it definitely looks to me as we are being led away from it.

Hugo, I appreciate what you’re trying to say. However the hail Mary and hail holy queen is asking Mary to pray to God for us. It is basically repeating what the angel Gabriel said and asking Mary to pray to God for us. Prayer is a form of worship, yes, but the prayer is worshipping God. It’s like when you say “praise be to God” to someone. You are not worshipping them just because you said that phrase to them. Catholics never ask Mary for protection, or salvation, or mercy or forgiveness. Only God can do that. But Catholics do ask Mary to pray. If you ever listen carefully, all responses to prayers directed at Mary say “pray for us”. If you or anyone reading this is still unsure, just pray to God about it. Many Protestants regard the Catholic church as retrograde because women cannot be priests, but at the same time you seem to think that Catholics are goddess worshippers – a bit like some new age, pagan-based cult members- and not true Christians. Hi Hugo, just to clarify regards the Rosary, you end the 10 hail Mary’s with the “Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit” not the “Hail Holy Queen” as you said. Also you start each decade of the Rosary with an “Our Father”.The Rosary does not worship Our Lady but asks her to pray for us. This is the Hail Mary Prayer explained. “Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thee” (these are the words of the angel Gabriel to Mary just before the angel asks her to be the Mother of God(Jesus).

ok i’m back, it was a great study. about suffering. anyway…so the two sides playing us and being “wind up merchants” (never heard of that one) is so true. I would notice that during the covid where the media would “leak” photos of governors without their masks on in a bar or something while we were all on lock down. I stil fall into it and what I think is happening is that the devil wants me to disobey God and not trust Him, just like Eve, and then to feel all bad about it and hide from Him instead of confess my sin to Him and let Him show me mercy. Viewing Christianity as the one true religion, and everything else as somehow being evil and false is surely just feeding into the divisiveness??People have fought and murdered one another for centuries, all in the name of religion. Hugo, I appreciate what you’re trying to say. However the hail Mary and hail holy queen is asking Mary to pray to God for us. It is basically repeating what the angel Gabriel said and asking Mary to pray to God for us. Prayer is a form of worship, yes, but the prayer is worshipping God. It’s like when you say “praise be to God” to someone. You are not worshipping them just because you said that phrase to them. Catholics never ask Mary for protection, or salvation, or mercy or forgiveness. Only God can do that. But Catholics do ask Mary to pray. If you ever listen carefully, all responses to prayers directed at Mary say “pray for us”. If you or anyone reading this is still unsure, just pray to God about it. Many Protestants regard the Catholic church as retrograde because women cannot be priests, but at the same time you seem to think that Catholics are goddess worshippers – a bit like some new age, pagan-based cult members- and not true Christians. Before the Reformation the Christian church WAS basically the Catholic church, and driving a wedge between the Catholic and Protestant churches has only led to blood-shed and great suffering over the centuries.

Hi Hugo, just to clarify regards the Rosary, you end the 10 hail Mary’s with the “Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit” not the “Hail Holy Queen” as you said. Also you start each decade of the Rosary with an “Our Father”.The Rosary does not worship Our Lady but asks her to pray for us. This is the Hail Mary Prayer explained. “Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thee” (these are the words of the angel Gabriel to Mary just before the angel asks her to be the Mother of God(Jesus).
“Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus” ( these are the words of Mary’s cousin Elizabeth as she greets Mary who visits Elizabeth when she is a few weeks pregnant. Then the second part of the Hail Mary just asks Mary to pray for us… “Holy Mary mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.”

ok i’m back, it was a great study. about suffering. anyway…so the two sides playing us and being “wind up merchants” (never heard of that one) is so true. I would notice that during the covid where the media would “leak” photos of governors without their masks on in a bar or something while we were all on lock down. I stil fall into it and what I think is happening is that the devil wants me to disobey God and not trust Him, just like Eve, and then to feel all bad about it and hide from Him instead of confess my sin to Him and let Him show me mercy. I am praying that God will help me to not fall into these traps and to Love God, obey Him, trust Him and then to love others. I am so judemental and am always wanting to put people down instead of repent of my own sin. it sucks. But God is so good, He began a good work in me and is faithful to complete it.
