Everyone has to believe in what he or she wants, but you can’t ignore the fact that the church is not entirely correct in the past up to and including today. Granted in 300 AD when Rome converted to Christianity included former pagan practices. That’s why we had different council’s throughout the ages. ~325AD with the Nicene Creed. ~800AD Had the council of Trent. “Bishops” appear in biblical text. But a man with that title does not appear until after 200AD. Then There is the Protestant Reformation in ~1521.
During the early years once Christianity was legal. The vast Roman empire with many roads and trade routes helped evangelists spread Christendom, rapidly throughout the empire. Because of the safety of Roman road’s, citizenship, laws.
The current Catholic church is messed up. It’s also very diverse, if you speak to Catholics. They have a wide range of views. But so do protestant’s… Men dressed like clowns, “Preaching.” That’s heretical. I could list the scripture but we all know it’s wrong.

It has been proven that several priests and other believers have a lot on their plate. Just look at the child abuse.
