There was a book I read a little while ago called “The Fisher of Men” about a guy was a Christian and had his faith strengthened by using Ayahuasca. The author of this book is Adam Elenbaas. Thank you for doing a video on psychedelics but I think you have missed the point with this content. By concentrating just on ayahuasca and linking it to shamans, religion and demons you have failed to recognise the real threat that is happening in our health care system right now. What we need to be concentrating on is the huge push for psychedelics to be used by the NHS as alternatives to treatments for depression, Alzheimers etc.
Companies like The Beckley Foundation, which is a UN-accredited NGO and think tank that concentrates on global drug policy reform, have received massive funding and also has ties to Imperial College London.Their research projects include assessing the effects of psychedelics such as cannabis, LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca, DMT and MDMA, on brain function, subjective experience and clinical symptoms.
And this is just one of hundreds of such companies that have received similar funding with many nearing the end of trials.
You mention in the video about how ayahuasca could ‘fill the hole’ in place of religion, but the research being carried out is much more nefarious.
This is a study carried out by a group of scientists including Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris who is head of the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London.The research project was titled :- ‘Relational Processes in Ayahuasca Groups of Palestinians and Israelis’ and looked at Unity-Based Connection – collective events in which a feeling of unity and ‘oneness’ is experienced, whereby participants related to each other based upon a sense of shared humanity, and in which other social identities seemed to dissolve (such as national and religious identities).’

I posted similar comment (twice) pointing at addiction to widely used medications and controlled drugs, which are commonly used in treating pain, depression, insomnia but my comments were blocked. If it happened once, I’d say: a coincidence.

In truth this video made me very uneasy. There were many mixed messages and blurring of the lines which can be seen in the comments section. And why the choice of showing a shamanic ritual for a large part of the video …. it didn’t make sense with the accompanying narrative. OK. As I understand it, and have been told by elders of medicine traditions, these ‘hallucinogenic’ plant medicines are provided by God, as with all foods and medicines, to help heal humanity. In my experience with Ayahuasca it does not always induce vomiting when taken, and it is said that this reaction is provoked to purge and clean the body physically and energetically. I never became addicted; if anything I am wary of taking the medicine out of respect for its power. I don’t need to take it now and I rarely do, and only then in a ceremonial prayer setting. I can connect with the vibration of the plant without ingesting it. I think whether someone connects with demonic or angelic entities during a ceremony is the same formula as in daily life – intention and focus. The purpose of true medicine ceremonies is healing and/or celebration, and the idea is to come away from one more present and resourced in our everyday lives. My experience of all the ‘hallucinogenic’ plant spirits is they radiate a benevolent love that always brings me a sense of humility, interconnectedness and gratitude. And surely Jesus taught that we need no intermediary, not even him, we all have our own personal connection with the divine. However a real Shaman (there’s not that many compared with how many people like to profess to be one) as I was told, is capable of ‘miraculous’ healing …….. perhaps like the supernatural healing powers that Jesus and his disciples displayed, and which he told us was our inheritance, all he had and MORE. I would suggest anyone wanting to try these medicines choose a group who would never allow it to be filmed. I prayed all night, many nights, with this medicine. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t an escape, I rarely ‘hallucinated’ but ALWAYS found myself faced with my inner demons and the issues that I was allowing to plague my life. These medicines saved my life in some way, and I will be eternally grateful to them. REMEMBERING that for a medicine to be effective, it needs to be the right one in the right dose. And yes, I think a lot of people use these sacred Teacher plants to escape. And the plants are in service, not in control, so they serve up what we ask for. I found them in the midst of a huge crisis, and it took me 3 years to pluck up the courage to go to a ceremony. In the end, I realised I had become addicted to the ego I built up in some of the circles I was in, so that’s why I stopped. I still love the traditions and they inform my daily life. I worked with one of the many Red Path groups out of central America whose traditions and teachings have been handed down orally in an unbroken lineage…so much respect to the truly Christic understandings they shared with me. Nothing in what I learnt there contradicts my understanding of Jesus’ teachings, and it seems he drank wine, which is mind and mood altering. Love to everyone.

Thank you for doing a video on psychedelics but I think you have missed the point with this content. By concentrating just on ayahuasca and linking it to shamans, religion and demons you have failed to recognise the real threat that is happening in our health care system right now. What we need to be concentrating on is the huge push for psychedelics to be used by the NHS as alternatives to treatments for depression, Alzheimers etc.
Companies like The Beckley Foundation, which is a UN-accredited NGO and think tank that concentrates on global drug policy reform, have received massive funding and also has ties to Imperial College London.Their research projects include assessing the effects of psychedelics such as cannabis, LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca, DMT and MDMA, on brain function, subjective experience and clinical symptoms.
And this is just one of hundreds of such companies that have received similar funding with many nearing the end of trials.
You mention in the video about how ayahuasca could ‘fill the hole’ in place of religion, but the research being carried out is much more nefarious.

In truth this video made me very uneasy. There were many mixed messages and blurring of the lines which can be seen in the comments section. And why the choice of showing a shamanic ritual for a large part of the video …. it didn’t make sense with the accompanying narrative. This is the kind of thing that the think tanks do to introduce an idea under the guise of wanting the opposite.

OK. As I understand it, and have been told by elders of medicine traditions, these ‘hallucinogenic’ plant medicines are provided by God, as with all foods and medicines, to help heal humanity. In my experience with Ayahuasca it does not always induce vomiting when taken, and it is said that this reaction is provoked to purge and clean the body physically and energetically. I never became addicted; if anything I am wary of taking the medicine out of respect for its power. I don’t need to take it now and I rarely do, and only then in a ceremonial prayer setting. I can connect with the vibration of the plant without ingesting it. I think whether someone connects with demonic or angelic entities during a ceremony is the same formula as in daily life – intention and focus. The purpose of true medicine ceremonies is healing and/or celebration, and the idea is to come away from one more present and resourced in our everyday lives. My experience of all the ‘hallucinogenic’ plant spirits is they radiate a benevolent love that always brings me a sense of humility, interconnectedness and gratitude. And surely Jesus taught that we need no intermediary, not even him, we all have our own personal connection with the divine. However a real Shaman (there’s not that many compared with how many people like to profess to be one) as I was told, is capable of ‘miraculous’ healing …….. perhaps like the supernatural healing powers that Jesus and his disciples displayed, and which he told us was our inheritance, all he had and MORE. I would suggest anyone wanting to try these medicines choose a group who would never allow it to be filmed. I prayed all night, many nights, with this medicine. I am curious if there was something you did not like about the specific drugs or is that part of pharmaceutical industry that controls you since you are not allowed to publish a critique.
I often sense that you bark a wrong tree and are fairly detached from reality with your focus on media, celebrities or apparent influencers. You would probably gain a wider audience, if you talked about down to earth matters. Didn’t you ever hear the phrase ‘media lie’?

Sassenach, this is to connect the dots of Hugo’s choice, which excludes pointing out what is happening right now in plain sight and what has been encouraged for long time. Obviously not everyone has access to fancy drugs like described in the talk, but an average person used or uses or is trapped entirely in aforementioned drugs, which I described and was blocked.
