Not ‘in the book of Revelation’ Hugo, but in 2 Thessalonians. But keep searching the scriptures my friend – all the scriptures that is. Don’t fall into the trap of getting obsessed with Revelation alone. Revelation is highly symbolic literature. It is to be taken seriously yes, but it is not to be taken literally. There’s plenty other clear didactic teaching in the New Testament which needs to be embraced and understood before drawing conclusions from the more obscure texts.
Don’t neglect the Old Testament either. Just remember that much of Old Testament prophecy is written in ‘type and shadow’ language. In order to understand it fully, you need to have the illumination of the New Testament Apostolic teachings.
Of primary importance are the Gospels. Christ is the ultimate fulfillment of all that the Old Testament prophets spoke.
A man needs to recognise his sin problem first before he can appreciate the amazing gift of salvation that Christ gives!
