I’m I the only one who understands the difference between agriculture (growing fruit and veg intensively, so as Monbiot says is destroys the environment both on land and aquatic life from run off from chemicals) and animal farms (cows and sheep grazing in pastures – which actually strengthens topsoil and is a self-fertilising practice)? Or have I missed something? Or are they now calling ALL farms agricultural – a bit like they call parasites and bacteria (which do exists and can cause disease) and viruses (which are mythical) under the heading ‘germs’.

I live in the US. I remember when I was in high school during the early 1990’s, we had lessons about Global Warming. It was taught as a fact. We had to act immediately otherwise the state of Florida would be underwater by the year 2000. Last time I checked, that state is still there. Rich people who have pushed Climate Change that have bought land on the coast include Al Gore and Barry Soertoro (B. Obama). If those two activists are so worried about Climate Change causing the sseas to rise, why arw they buying land on the coast? Soertoro’s house is about a meter above sea level.

This same a***hole wrote an article, in the Guardian, about how it is necessary to clear the hills of sheep. He omitted to mention how those hills were cleared of people in order to make way for the sheep…up to 4500 people per day at the height of the Highland Clearances.
