You aren’t off grid or invisible with a granny phone unfortunately because the sim still sends signals to the masts and your phone can be triangulated and therefore your location can still be tracked. What with cameras in every city and town, and on motorways, it isn’t long before it can be connected with your car registration too. No such thing as off grid phones sorry.

I found mine in Google in settings called something like covid 19 health app but I’m doubting if mine is the same one as mine you had to turn on so it remains happily off. It also shows up in my app section when I go to clear cache storage on my apps. It went to all androids and iPhone but in iPhone it is under different setting but not sure which.

With a laptop you are going to have more user control. It will be easier to get ‘under the hood’ to disable crap and re-configure the device to your liking. With an Android device everything is gobbled up and sent off to the Google guys 😀 , not to the same extent with an iPhone, that is why they are more expensive though, but with Android you are paying with your data 😀 It is really the smartphone that owns you – not the other way round 😀

Sis in law’s answer was … ” I dont know, it doesnt tell you ” !!!! FFS! I couldnt get my breath! She obviously didnt have anything important to do for the next fortnight! My husband works for NHS and they have been told to leave their phones at home if they have the track and trace app as they don’t want staff having to isolate because their phones are near each other. Seems ridiculous as it’s their own app.
Think they are preparing for the information blackout as they are saying their computers might go down because they are updating the software !

You do not legally have to isolate with any notification from the app. Only from track n trace.

Years ago when I woke up I caught a lovely police man coming off his shift and handed him an infowars “You are the resistance” business card. It was the only site I could find kicking off at the time. That police man gracefully took my card and said he would have a look! I’m still a rebel but I haven’t been arrested yet! Sell me some business cards Hugo and I will go and give them to as many brothers and sisters as I can!

These people cannot simply get rid of their smartphones because they are psychologically dependent on them. Addicted to them.
They’ve become the psychological equivalent of dummies. Smart phones are like drugs – psychedelic worlds of wonder that take away your immediate problems.
So it’s no surprise then that an App like “Test & Trace” becomes a crutch to those same people, because now your LIFE depends on it…
Imagine what that must be doing to their minds. “Oh no. I dare not venture outside, Test & Trace just told me to stay at home. And staying at home makes me a good, obedient citizen”. Said the Government during in the 20-21 and beyond pLandemic…
