I know this may sound disconnected, but I feel it’s quite important. I think we need to take pleasure in the little things in life. Encouraging children to wave at trains, post vans, etc. feeding birds, animals. The reason being is because the feeling is replicated. The appreciation is given back to them. I think you’re correct Ray in terms of Ireland. That’s what I clocked a few days ago, when I thought to myself: “Why has Ireland got the strictest lockdown in the World? Why Ireland? The Book De Valera’s Constitution and Ours: Thomas Davis Lectures is both informative and authoritative and makes the facts of the attempted con job protracted over time very clear, (without ever calling it a con job).
That book together with a copy of the Sovereign Constitution (AD 1918) the Irish Proclamation and a little bit of study is all that is required.
It makes it quite plain what took place. It certainty was not taught in the schools but thankfully due to the oral Irish tradition of handing down history the facts were not allowed to die of be buried.

The government gave him land but he said no!!, I will buy my own!!. Patik did indeed purchase his own land. Patik married an Irish girl from Kilkenny also shipped from Ireland to Australia a few years later. So I am related to the Irish and proud to be so. 1916 did not finish in 1918, it was not ended by attempted and illegitimate bastardisation of The Constitution by DeValera in 1922 or 1937. The Sovereign Constitution by the will of all the people of Ireland remains intact and active to this day. It’s funny you should say that Ray. One thing that stuck in my head when I visited Ireland was the way a few of the people spoke. One was the Stewardess on the plane over and the other, which I’ll never forget, was a young lad speaking to his father at Cobh station. He must have been 10/11 years old. It was lyrical. It sounded like poetry, heavenly. The stewardess speaking was so gentle and calming, the way she spoke. I’ve never heard anything like it.

I know this may sound disconnected, but I feel it’s quite important. I think we need to take pleasure in the little things in life. My great grandparents had to move to Scotland because they were made to starve because no work and many other problems and they never returned my poor great grandmother died in heart of London’s capital were they ended up were she worked 3 jobs a day to feed her her 10 children and her husband she died a serious alcoholic and of cancer.
She was never able to return to her Homeland, mother land 🇮🇪 Ireland she came to England and they destroyed her really.

Janie, When I look at the buildings the EU controlled planning departments have and are dictating in Ireland, it is awful, Tin sheds called shops, and huge apartment blocks in cities. It is all part of destroying and eroding Irish culture and heritage. A bit of reading on Architecture and Archaeology will soon reveal how ones environment influences culture. Thank you for sharing the story of your grandparents, immigrants the world over and irrespective of time or distance always have a longing for that place they grew up in, it is home and always will be, especially if it is Ireland. Today we have children born to 3rd generation immigrants in far flung exotic places and were do they dream of one day living, Likely the same town-land there grandparents grew up and if ever they get there they don’t want to leave. I’m from the North West, and not for nothing were the mills called the ‘Satanic Mills’. A good example I can give is that I had a open interview type thing about 4 years ago. 30 people in the room, we had to speak about ourselves first. There was an attractive woman, well dressed, smiling, full of life and vitality, she was from Iran. I thought she was English before she spoke as she was white. Anyway, I left after a few months. I saw her a year later and spoke to her. She looked shattered, miserable, fearful, completely drained of life. A different person.
Also, I remember Johnny Wilkinson, the English rugby player say that when he transferred to a French club, and obviously lived in France, he could feel himself start heeling mentally and physically almost instantly. It’s something I experienced when I visited there too.
